Criteria

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate for the Pamela Luise Dream Lifter prize is an individual woman who has overcome her own challenges and made the advancement of the dreams of others an integral part of their everyday life, both professionally and personally.

It may be the express profession of the individual to support others, such as a nurse, teacher, rescue worker, or other social service career yet the ideal candidate will have gone beyond the call of their job description to lift the dreams of those around them in an extraordinary way.

·   The nomination narrative demonstrates:

Multiple cases where the candidate empowered others.

Allyship in the workplace in support of the career or personal goals of others.

Narratives of encouraging people in all their diversity, with a broad remit covering achievements in gender equality or equal participation in and access to decision-making.

Action to encourage inclusive policies and practice to give raise to the dreams of an individual or organization, be them grand or common.

SELECTION CRITERIA – 100 POINTS

·   25 points – Candidate Women Empowerment Goal

All 25 points are awarded if the candidate is a woman.

A candidate may score up to 25 points, at the selection committee members discretion, for unique personal characteristics that align with the mission of recognizing a dream lifter regardless of the diversity goal.

 

·   25 points – Candidate Background / Hardship Goal

A candidate may score up to 25 points, at the selection committee members discretion, for uniquely overcoming their own hardships to support the dreams of others.

·   50 points – Candidate Dream Lifter Achievement

A candidate may score up to 50 points, at the selection committee members discretion, for demonstrating they have regularly acted to lift the dreams of others. This make take the form of empowering someone to achieve their career goals in the workplace. Allying with community members to achieve their dream. Mentoring others in their workplace, or community in support of their dreams.

As the actions of the candidate support the goals of gender equality, equal access to participation and decision making, championing opportunities for disadvantaged individuals or groups, and bringing dreams to life will be awarded more points.

WHO CAN BE NOMINATED?

Individuals, not organizations. Individuals must have legally resided in Estonia contiguously in the most recent 18months of the nomination. Members of the American Chamber of Commerce and Latitude59 staff, management board, and deceased individuals are not permitted.

THE SELECTION PANEL

The Selection Panel, chaired by a representative of the Pamela Luise Picard family or a person designated by them, is composed of four independent members with recognised standing in the field of empowerment, Human Resources, Coaching, or DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) initiatives.

Two members of the Selection Panel are nominated by AmCham Estonia, and two are nominated by the family of Pamela Luise Picard.

Members of the Selection Panel are appointed for a two-year period, renewable twice. Current members of the AmCham Estonia board cannot be members of the Selection Panel.

THE AWARD CEREMONY

The name of the prize-winner is announced by the Head of the Latitude59 conference, a representative of AmCham Estonia and a representative of the family of Pamela Luise Picard.
